So having a way to log all your baby stuff is great! It helps you know if your little one is sleeping they need to wake up and eat, or it’s time for tummy time. I didn’t realize the toll of minimal sleep would really affect your daily life. When I had a moment to sleep I took it.
Track diapers, bottles, meals, and add short notes for each infant using this handy report. Using this compact report you can track for bottles, meals, diapers and sleep for each infant. Using this report you can track meals, rest, diaper/potty, and areas of learning for each toddler.
Feed your newborn on cue Most newborns need eight to 12 feedings a day — about one feeding every two to three hours. Look for early signs of readiness to feed, such as moving the hands to the mouth, sucking on fists and fingers, and lip smacking. Fussing and crying are later cues.
Because breast milk is so easy to digest, most breastfed babies eat more often than those on formula, usually between eight and 12 times a day. Frequently that works out to a feeding every one-and-a-half to two hours, usually around the clock for the first few weeks.
You can start by offering your baby 1 to 2 ounces of infant formula every 2 to 3 hours in the first days of life if your baby is only getting infant formula and no breast milk. Give your baby more if he or she is showing signs of hunger. Most infant formula-fed newborns will feed 8 to 12 times in 24 hours.
