Camera color settings - Software of hardware presets

2 hours ago Camera was working but only in Black and White. Went back to device settings looking for 'color' settings and found none. On board camera works but only in B&W. Any suggestions where to look to reset/activate color? PS: plugged in a Microsoft HD camera/mic and it works fine in color so puzzle remains with built-in device. This thread is locked.

10 hours ago Sep 24, 2019 . I don't know what the deal is there, but that seems like way too much. I have a hunch that Cinema 4K is doing some of the image proccecing after the camera API does it's processing because the highlight performance is poor. There is all kinds of color clipping artifacts with that app with the "flat" profiles on medium and high.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What color profile should I use in in-camera?

In-camera color profiles are really designed for JPEG users. If you use the JPEG format, it’s important to choose the most appropriate profile as you cannot change it afterward in Lightroom. If you use Raw then it doesn’t matter which color profile you select as you can change it late in Lightroom (or ACR).

  • What are camera color profiles in Lightroom?

Your camera has several color profiles that you can enable to change the look of your photos. On most cameras, these have names like Standard, Portrait, and Landscape. The names are fairly self-explanatory and tell you what each profile is designed to be used for. This article will show you how to use those camera color profiles in Lightroom.

  • What is a color profile and how does it work?

Color profiles work together with the White Balance setting on your camera to control the colors in your photos. For example, if you are shooting portraits you could set the profile to Portrait and White Balance to Cloudy to give your portraits a pleasing warm color cast.

  • Can I change the default brightness and contrast settings in camera?

As you might have observed by now, the built-in Camera app lacks most of the settings that you find in a dedicated camera app camera manufacturer. It offers basic settings only. That said, there are options to change the default brightness and contrast settings.

  • What are Camera Raw presets and how to use them?

With Camera Raw presets, you can save a particular set of photo editing adjustments and apply those edits to several images. It is possible to correct exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, black and white balance, etc. Photoshop Camera Raw is a full-featured and powerful photo editing software.

  • What version of Camera Raw do the sharpen presets work with?

These require Camera Raw 8.4.1 to work (as that has the Fuji colour profiles) although the sharpen presets might work with earlier versions (I haven't tested this). I’m providing these “as is” as a courtesy and I’m afraid I can’t offer support, but if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer if I can.

  • What is camera color calibration for digital cameras?

Well, that’s exactly what camera color calibration is for digital cameras. Color settings are a way of selecting a particular look for your image, from very flat images with minimal contrast and color to vibrant images, as well as black and white photos. Color profiles are a great way of applying a particular look right there in camera!

  • What is the ACR preset on my camera?

This ACR preset makes the pictures light and soft as well as smoothens skin tones and highlights the main subject. It works great with outdoor images and photos with a blurry background. If you are going to shoot in poor light conditions, there is a chance your photos will appear dark and underexposed. The filter may fix this issue.
