  • How long does it take for wallpaper to come off walls?

    After 10 to 15 minutes, you can start peeling back damp wallpaper where the wall meets the ceiling. You should have luck removing large pieces now that the glue has softened, but keep a wall scraper ( view example on Amazon) handy to shave away strips of paper that do not come off in one continuous strip.

  • Why won't my vinyl wallpaper come off?

    Often the vinyl wallpaper has a grain. The paper will pull away easily in one direction and tear in the opposite direction. If you are having trouble removing the vinyl from the top, try working from the bottom up. It may work better.

  • How do you fix wallpaper that won’t come off?

    After removing the wallpaper, clean and remove the excess adhesive by applying a solution of hot water and a small amount of trisodium phosphate (TSP). Wipe the walls with the cleaning solution, rinse with a sponge and clean water and towel dry. Use spackle or sandable filler to patch any nicks or gouges in the wall.
