2 hours ago For this one, I added a monogram background badge from Cricut Access, then added my text on top. I sized it, then selected both layers and hit ‘Slice’. This tool cuts one layer out of the other. You’ll end up with three layers. You can delete all the layers you don’t want to cut out, leaving yourself with the monogram cut out of the background.

Make adjustments as needed to the width and length of your rectangle. When you’re happy with the way everything looks, select the letter and the rectangle together and then click the slice button on the bottom left of the layers menu. This will cut the rectangle out of your monogram letter.

Move the line into position at the top of the bottom half of your split monogram: Now select everything and click Weld to stick it all together. This is what it will look like after you click Weld — it is now just one layer. It’s time to put your name in!

There are some monogram fonts that are actually a collection of SVG files. So instead of getting a font that you install on your computer, you actually get an SVG file for each letter that needs to be uploaded. I have had several people disappointed upon purchasing these types of “fonts”.
