  • 2. Account  2. Account  1 How do I sign up on the pool? There's no registration on Nanopool. Just start mining and your account will automatically show up within 30 minutes since your miner submitted its first valid share. 2 How do I find my account on the pool? Just fill your address in the "Address" field on the right top of the pool page and hit "Search" button - you'll be redirected to your Nanopool account. 3 Cannot find my account on the pool. It says: "Account not found" error. Remember, it takes up to 30 minutes for a new account to appear. If you just started mining, please check back later. If you mined more than 30 minutes and your account cannot be found - check your miner configuration meets the requirements. And if it is still a no-go after that, contact Nanopool team to figure it out. 4 Is it possible to change my payout limit? Of course! You can adjust your payout limit in your Nanopool account settings. 5 What is my settings password? Your password is the email address/passphrase you set in your miner configuration. If you did not specify that, unfortunately you cannot access the settings until you do that. 6 Getting “invalid password” message error when trying to adjust payout limit. Bear in mind your email/passphrase is case-sensitive. Check your miner configuration meets all the requirements, your worker is showing up and its rating is at least 10. Feel free to contact Nanopool team if the issue continues. 7 What if I give up mining for a while, will my account be deleted? Eventually yes. Inactive Nanopool accounts are kept for 6 months after which permanently get removed. 8 How to enable email alert to receive an email when my worker goes offline? To enable our email notification, you just need to fill your email address in your miner configuration. See our Help page for more info. 9  Can I use an invalid email address in my miner configuration? If you want to receive an email notification when your worker goes offline, you have to use a valid one. Otherwise, you can set a passphrase instead to access the settings. 10 My account statistic is stuck and does not update any longer. There may be some wonky data hung up in your browser. By clearing your browser cache, cookies, and restarting it, you should fix the issue. 11 Getting "too many results" message error when I try to find my account. Most likely you have filled your exchange/web-wallet base address in, whereas you need to look up your account with your Payment ID.
  • 3. Balance 3. Balance 1 I have mined for a while but my balance remains the same. Nanopool's payout method is PPLNS, therefore you get paid each time when the pool finds a block. And if your balance stays untouched while you submitted shares, it means that the pool has not found a block yet and once it does, your balance will be updated. 2 Why am I seeing my balance in USD equivalent decreases without being paid? The cryptocurrency market is so volatile, you'll see that each time the price of the coin you mine changes. 3 How often do get paid? It depends on your hash-power and on the payout limit you set. Once your balance has reached the payout limit, it will be paid out upcoming payout round. 4 When will I get my block reward? My balance is not increasing. There is no personal block reward on the pool. Nanopool's payout scheme is PPLNS, it means the pool splits the mining reward proportionally among all the miners that participated in mining the block after it was found. 5 What does my profit depend on? The most major factors your profit depends on are: hash-power, hash-rate constancy, mining difficulty and pool luck. 6 If a share difficulty increases, will it decrease my profit accordingly? No, along with share difficulty its price increases proportionally. It means you will submit fewer shares that cost more = your profit remains the same. 7 What is unconfirmed balance? When is my balance going to be confirmed? Unconfirmed balance is an amount of mined coins that are waiting for the network confirmation. Once coins get confirmed, they will be moved to your main balance automatically.
  • 4. Address 4. Address 1 Can I use crypto-exchange addresses to receive my mining reward? Yes, you can mine to an exchange wallet. Nanopool works just fine with exchange wallet addresses. 2 How do I obtain local wallet address for a coin I want to mine? Go to the appropriate Help page of the coin you want to mine and look up for a local wallet download link. Once downloaded, you'll be able to generate an address. Please keep in mind, using a local wallet could take a lot of disc space on your computer. 3 I have mined using incorrect wallet address. Can you return my unpaid coins? We process each case individually. Please, correct your address and contact Nanopool team to find that out.
  • 5. Worker 5. Worker 1 How long does it take for a new worker to show up? It might take up to 10 minutes for your worker to show up after it submitted at least one valid share. 2 Can I remove an old worker? No, non-active workers are deleted automatically within 50-60 hours of inactivity. 3 My single GPU/CPU Rig often gets recognized as offline, whereas it's hashing constantly. Our notification system is optimized for multi-GPU/CPU rigs, therefore you might receive false-positive notifications while mining with a single GPU/CPU rig each time your miner did not manage to send a single share for 20 minutes. 4 Is it necessary to fill my worker name in? No, it is not. However, if you have more than one RIG, you should set different names for each of them so that you can track them individually. 5 What is a worker's rating and what is it used for? Worker's rating represents a number of submitted shares with particular email address. It is used for defining your current password.
  • 6. Hashrate 6. Hashrate 1 My Average hash-rate constantly fluctuates. Please keep an eye on your equipment temperature, ensure it is stored in a well-cooled room. Check your GPUs are not too overlooked, your Internet connection is stable and failover servers are all set. And if the issue continues, feel free to email your miner's log file to our team to figure it out. 2 The gap between my Average hash-rate and the Reported one is too huge. If you have just started mining, wait at least 6 hours to compare your Average with the Reported hash-rate (Keep in mind discrepancy up to 10% is acceptable). In case you have mined more than 6 hours and the difference between the values is more than 10% - contact Nanopool team. 3 My Calculated hash-rate fluctuates all the time. What does it mean? Nanopool provides high difficulty shares, so Calculated hash-rate fluctuates a lot (it's based on a number of submitted shares in 10 minutes). You should keep an eye on your 6-12 hour Average hash-rate is close to the Reported one (discrepancy up to 10% is acceptable).
  • 7. Transaction / Payout 7. Transaction / Payout 1 How to speed up my payouts? You can lower the payout limit in your Nanopool account settings or increase hash-power by adding more GPUs to your RIG. You can also add an extra RIG to your account to increase your total hashrare, therefore payout frequency. 2 My transaction is missing. 1. Check if your transaction is visible in a blockchain explorer (Click on the confirmed button). Do not send an email to our team in case it is visible, update your local wallet and fully sync it over the network. If you use web-wallet or an exchange, contact receiving party team to clarify this concern. Important: some exchanges do not credit deposits below a certain amount of coins. Once an amount is accumulated, your coins will be credited to your exchange wallet. Please, read your exchange deposit policy for more info. 2. In case missing transaction was sent more than 48 hours ago and it is not visible in the blockchain, kindly contact Nanopool team to sort that out. 3 Will I receive a payout to a local-wallet if my PC is off? Yes, you can receive payments without being online. Once your wallet is synchronized - payouts will show up. 4 Is there a payout round schedule? When is next payout round? There is no any schedule for that. Payout round goes one by one several times a day. 5 I did not reached a payout limit, will my balance be paid out automatically? No. Payment can be made automatically only if your reached a payout limit. If  your account inactive more than 24 hours and there is no any worker left - you can contact support to ask for a final payment.

Step-by-step guide - Nanopool Help Center

  • Step 1: Get Your GPU Drivers Installed Step 1: Get Your GPU Drivers Installed Double check the drivers are installed in advance or if you installed them previously you can skip this step. To get the latest Nvidia GeForce drivers, and enter your GPU info then click “Start Search”. Download the current driver version from the results.  For AMD GPUs, and choose "Support & Drivers". Enter your GPU info and click "Display results" then click the download button for your current driver. Once downloaded, install the drivers like you normally would (next, next, OK, etc.) and reboot your RIG. You see your GPU’s are recognized correctly if you go into Device Manager (search in Windows search bar) and if you don’t see any warning marks on your GPU’s you're good to go to the next step.
  • Step 2: Obtain an Ehereum Wallet Address  Step 2: Obtain an Ehereum Wallet Address  There's a number of ways you can get an Ethereum address through, such as at a web-wallet like "", at an or you can play it safe and use one of the . If you already have an Ethereum address, just jump down to the next step. Remember, some exchanges don't allow deposits from pools or don't allow very small deposits, so double check with the site before mining directly to an exchange address, whereas setting up a local wallet requires to wait a while for the blockchain to download. Bear in mind, storing your funds at an exchange/web-wallet is always associated with a risk  If you don't want to use a local wallet as it would require you to wait while the full Ethereum blockchain downloads (it also takes a lot of disc space on your PC). Feel free to register at an exchange/web-wallet to obtain an address, however you also can  use a local .
  • Step 3: Apply some Tweaks to Windows before mining Step 3: Apply some Tweaks to Windows before mining First of you don't want your miner to be interrupt while mining if your RIG goes to sleep. You don't want to your RIG to be automatically rebutted either, which may occur if Windows updates. And we also have to increase your Virtual Memory (aka swap file) to 16 GB that is required for Ethereum mining. Go to your Windows Power Settings and set it to Never sleep  Head to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/ Services. Scroll down to Windows Update and turn it off  If you're running Windows Defender/Antivirus make sure to add an exception to it so that it doesn't flag your miner as a virus (not necessary for Nanominer)  Go to Control Panel/System and Security/System/Advanced System Setting and set your Virtual Memory to  16384 MB (this is 16GB)
  • Step 4: Download and Set up a Miner Step 4: Download and Set up a Miner There are various of miners out there to choose from that are not covered here as we are doing to use our own miner called in which our team put a lot of time and effort to make it simple to use and efficient to mine, so you should not have any trouble with it.   Depending on your OS, for Windows or Linux  Extract the miner to any folder you like and navigate to it Locate and edit "config.ini" file with any notepad app Copy the following and paste it into the file: [Ethash] wallet=0x123... coin=ETH Fill your ETH address in the "wallet" line and this is petty much enough to start mining Ethereum with Nanominer on Nanopool. The next steps are not necessary but if you have more than one RIG, it would be much more convenient if you set a different name for each so that you'll be able to track them on the pool individually. You are also advised to set your email address in if you want to receive alerts form the pool when your worker (RIG) goes offline. You email will also be your password to access the settings. If you don't want to receive the alerts, you can use a passphrase instead. As it's not mandatory, feel free to jump down to the next step. Add "rigName =" line under the wallet to indicate your RIG name Add "email =" line to indicate your email/passphrase NOTE: Nanominer will connect to the pool's default server, and It might be not the best choice for you as there's latency and you want the server you connect to to be as closer to your location as possible. Therefore, by adding the follower parameter at the bottom of your Nanominer's config.ini file: "sortPools=true" this will enable automatic pool's servers sorting based on their ping speed You can be sure that Nanominer will automatically pick the server that has the lowest ping time from your location and the network latency will not affect your mining as the pool and the miner will communicate at the highest speed possible. Full Configuration Example: [Ethash] wallet=0x52bc44d5378309ee2abf1539bf71de1b7d7be3b5 coin=ETH rigName=Rig001 sortPools=true
  • Step 5: Start the Miner Step 5: Start the Miner Start the miner by running the nanominer.exe file. Nanominer will start, run the commands to set those environment variables, initialize each of your GPU’s, build the DAG file on each of your GPU’s and start hashing away. After a while, you'll be able to find your account on the pool.
  • Step 6: Find your Account on Nanopool Step 6: Find your Account on Nanopool Remember there's no registration on the pool. You just need to start mining and your account will automatically show up. However, allow some time as our system needs about 30 minutes to add your account to the pool's database since your miner submitted its first share. So please, be patient and come back to Nanopool in a while, there's Address  filed on the right top in which you need to fill your Ethereum address in. Once filled, hit enter, you'll be redirected to your Nanopool account page.  Congrats! You have joined Nanopool. Spend some time to familiarize yourself with the pool and its features; you'll like the interface.
  • Step 7: Make sure Your Mining goes Smoothly Step 7: Make sure Your Mining goes Smoothly Let your RIG to mine for at least 6 hours (or even 12) then come back to check your account statistic on the pool. You just need to compare your 6-hour Average hashrate (Nanopool estimates avg hashrate by shares sent from you rigs) with the Last Reported hashrate (it's what your miner tells to the pool your hashrate is) and the values need to be close (the closer the better), however, allow 10% discrepancy. And if your 6-hour Average hashrate is lower by more than 10% than the Reported one, then there must be an issue and you should contact our team to figure it out.
