This will make sure you don't have unnecessary packages remaining, and will remove config files, saving a little space and making sure it won't interfere with other programs or future reinstallations. How to Disable a Chrome Plug-In. Chrome plug-ins such as Adobe Flash are managed through Chrome's Content Settings window. Use the chrome://settings/content URL or open the Chrome menu and follow the path Settings > Show advanced settings > Content Settings. Scroll to the plug-in you want to control and click on it.
In the Advanced section, scroll down to the System section and uncheck the toggle associated with Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed. Once the setting is disabled, you can safely close Google Chrome. Press Windows key + R to open up a Run command. Then, type “ appwiz.cpl ” and hit Enter to open Program and Features.
Here’s how: Go to the Start menu > Control Panel. Double-click Folder Options. Click View. Make sure the “Hide extensions for known file types” checkbox is deselected. Right-click this link. Click Save Link as and save the file name as remove.reg. (Select “All files” as your file type.) Exit Google Chrome completely.
