I weigh 190 so I naturally lift about 115 as a push up is 65% of bodyweight plus the bands. It’s much like pressing 225 per push up. Have them anchored on my deck. Works fantastic and I don’t need a spotter so i can crank them out to failure.

Sure there are better ways to train but they won't "hurt" you. When I'm really trying to get in shape quickly I will do PU and SU about every 90 minutes all day long.

The IPPT Push Ups Station scoring system is based on your age group, and the number of reps you are able to complete within one minute. The maximum point of 25 points requires up to 60 push up reps within a minute, depending on your age group. Now, let us start with the push up standards that is required for each rep.
Choose based on your starting strength and fitness level. Perform an assisted push-up with a 4-second lowering phase. Count to four in your head while lowering, then either A) press back up as normal, or B) get back to your starting position by any means. Find a bench, staircase, or piece of furniture to perform a push-up on.
In the actual push-up and sit-up test, the cadets have to perform a grueling number of repetitions for each exercise within two minutes. The workouts are based on military resources, including the Army's pocket PT guide and a Navy conditioning manual.
Push ups are a staple of military training. Push-ups and sit-ups compose two-thirds of the military's physical fitness test. These two basic exercises are the staple of boot camp style training because they're easy to learn and you can do them anywhere.
In training mode, Pushups app will make a reasonable training plan based on your age and body status. The plan will be divided in to six levels with each level containing several groups of push ups. Training plan for next group or level will be based on your current training result.
