Our list of Candida diet foods contains only gluten-free grains and pseudo-grains. Avoiding inflammation is one of the keys elements of the Candida diet. That’s why we ask you to avoid processed foods, minimize your caffeinated drinks, and eat lots of anti-inflammatory, fermented foods.
In order to have success with the candida diet, it will take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. It really depends on the individual and a few key variables: Once you’re free of your candida symptoms and the candida itself, then what?
However, you can gradually reintroduce certain foods into your new candida diet. Low-sugar fruits like green apples are a great example of a smart choice. If the reintroduced foods don’t cause flare-ups of candida symptoms, you can move on to reintroducing more foods that you have been avoiding.
It is these spikes and sugars in the blood and intestine that candida goes into a feeding frenzy over. If conditions are right, candida yeast can double its population in 1 hour. So you can see how important the diet really is.
Eating non-starchy vegetables starves Candida colonies of the natural sugars that feed them. Try to eat mostly low-starch vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, eggplant, onions, and zucchini. You should buy your vegetables fresh and eat them raw, steamed, or grilled.
If you currently eat a lot of red meat, you should consider switching to white meats and fish. Red meat can be troublesome for Candida sufferers because it releases larger amounts of ammonia in the colon. You need not give up meat and fish completely, but cutting your red meat consumption right back is likely to help your Candida treatment.
