The mission of the Gambling Treatment Program is to provide comprehensive treatment services to compulsive gamblers and their families. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services funds the Gambling Treatment Program. It is a statewide program for compulsive gamblers and their families.
The good news is that Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) based professional treatment and self-help CBT models such as SMART Recovery can be very helpful for gaining independence from addictions, including problem gambling. SMART Recovery is an alternative to Gamblers Anonymous (GA) as well as other 12-step programs.
Certified Addiction Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC) credentials are for those who are in personal lived experience of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring disorders who wish to provide recovery support to those seeking/in recovery from substance use issues.
The Forensic Support (FS) endorsement for the CAPRC credential is to assist the peer recovery coach professional with having additional competencies related to those with current/previous involvement with the justice system.
ICAADA credentials assist with beginning, continuing, or advancing a career in behavioral health. ICAADA credentials are highly recognized in Indiana and many offer reciprocity in other states that have an IC & RC affiliate board.
Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) is a credential for family members, allies, loved ones or others who do not have personal, lived experience of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring disorders.
