Instaseis: Instant Global Seismograms Based on a Broadband

8 hours ago Instaseis calculates broadband seismograms from Green’s function databases generated with AxiSEM and allows for near instantaneous (on the order of milliseconds) extraction of seismograms. Using the 2.5D axisymmetric spectral element method, the generation of these databases, based on reciprocity of the Green’s functions, is very efficient and is approximately half as expensive as a single ...

  • What should I contribute to seismo live project?

We intend seismo-live to be a place to collect all kinds of tutorial and notebooks related to seismology so contributions are gladly accepted and actually crucial for the success of the whole project. To contribute make sure you have the same installation, especially Python version 3.5, as documented below.

  • When do you need a tool like seismoartif?

However, in those cases where access to real accelerograms is, for whatever reason, challenging or inappropriate, then a tool such as SeismoArtif will be of pertinence and usefulness.

  • Are there any discounts for using seismosoft?

Students, Academic Staff and/or Universities may benefit from a 10% discount to all full Commercial versions of Seismosoft products and product bundles. Take advantage of our Bundle offer.

  • Can a seismoartif plot be copied to excel?

Due to its full integration with the Windows environment, SeismoArtif allows for numerical and graphical results to be copied to any Windows application (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, etc.), noting that the plots characteristics can be fully customised from within the program itself.

  • Is there a program to create seismostruct input files?

The ‘SPF Creator’ program has been included in the installation. Users can use the program, together with a spreadsheet program like MS Excel, to create hundreds or thousands of SeismoStruct input files very quickly without the need for any programming skill.

  • How does a real time seismogram display work?

Real-time Seismogram Displays These seismogram displays depict ground motion recorded by seismograph stations in real-time, updated every few minutes. Each plot represents 24 hours of data from one station. Read more »

  • How long does it take for a seismogram to update?
