10 hours ago It's called Starry Landscape Stacker, and it can be found in the Mac App store. There is a free trial if you're interested, but it puts a watermark over the image. I tried it out, and liked it so much that I purchased it right away. Essentially, you take about 10 photos of the sky, at about 15 seconds and put them into the program.

3 hours ago I tried Starry Sky Stacker, Affinity Photo, APP and PI. For every program I used youtube videos for instruction, for APP and PI also some books. PI is the most powerful, but in my opinion it’s the opposite of beginner friendly. APP is what I use now, because you get good results with the default settings and can experiment a bit with the options.

In my post processing, I started with reducing chromatic aberration in Studio NX, converted the NEF files to TIFF files, stacked the frames in Starry Sky Stacker, did the majority of my post processing in Photoshop and final touches in Lightroom. I tried to process the same image a couple of times and this is result I like the most so far.
